Today on 07 th October 2019 at APEFA headquarters held a meeting, between APEFA management and energy 4 impact led by Mr. Peter Weston the Director of Investment Advisory Services of Energy 4 Impact;
Energy 4 Impact is a non-profit internal organization working with local businesses to extend access to energy in Africa, impacting the quality of life for millions of people. Growing sustainable clean energy markets improves livelihoods and accelerates economic growth.
The Executive Director of APEFA Mr. NZABONIMPA Oscar introduced the visitor to APEFA staff member there after he welcomes the visiting team.
The Technical advisor of APEFA takes visitor through the presentation on APEFA background, vision and achievements and following area of Soil conservation and landscape restoration;
Integrated water management Sustainable agriculture; Climate change adaptation &mitigation;
Green mining promotion, Monitoring and traceability of mineralsand as well as some key success stories.
She also informed the energy for impact team about APEFA key partners which are: Ministry of Environment Ministry of Forestry and Land; Rwanda Water and Forestry Authority (RWFA); Rwanda Mining, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMPGB), Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA), Ministry of Agriculture and its agencies (RAB, NAEB); Local Administration and communities, Districts;International NGOs such as IFDC, ARCOS, World Vision and IUCN
In his speech the Director of Investment Advisory Services of Energy 4 Impact, Mr. Peter Weston thanked APEFA for its commitment to support help farmers to improve their livelihood he therefore promised to work with APEFA in forthcoming endeavours.
The outcome of this meeting:
Signing a memorandum of understanding between the two parties for future collaboration in the field of solar based irrigation aspiration,
Energy for Impact committed to conduct capacity building for to APEFA staff on new irrigation technogies.
The Executive Director of APEFA concluded the meeting by thanking the visitors and promises to work closed with the organisation.
