APEFA

Action pour la Protection de l‟Environnement et la Promotion des Filières Agricoles «APEFA»

Action pour la Protection de l‟Environnement et la Promotion des Filières Agricoles «APEFA», is a non-government Organization founded by people concerned with environment degradation, climate change, smart agriculture, and food security in Rwanda. APEFA was granted legal by Ministerial Order No. 99/11 of 31 July 2008 published in the Official Journal No. 38 of 22 September 2014.

Vision

APEFA aspires to a future where rural community across Rwanda thrives through productive and eco-friendly agricultural systems that secure livelihood and conserve natural resources for future generations.

Intervention strategy

The strategy is to empower and facilitate communities through associations/cooperatives, in order to reduce human pressure on forests and other natural resources through livelihood improvement activities.

Our Objectives

1. Promoting public awareness;

2. Contribution to the environmental balance and food security at the community level;

3. Conservation of Natural resources at community level (Forests, soil conservation)

4. The development of the agricultural sector through the use of quality seed and the priority use of organic fertilizers (manure compost promotion).

Location of activities

APEFA implements integrated projects across all provinces of Rwanda focused on sustainable land management, water resource development, sustainable agriculture and capacity building.
