On 26th August 2026, Action pour la Protection de l’Environnement et la Promotion des Filières Agricoles (APEFA) kicked off a three-day training under the project “Sustainable Farming Practices to Build Climate-Resilient Livelihoods for Vulnerable Households in Bugesera District.”
Held in Nyamata from 26–28 August 2026, the training brings together farmer group leaders, District and Sector Agronomists, and Cell Social and Economic Development Officers (SEDOs).
Participants are gaining practical knowledge in: Climate-Smart Agriculture, Agroecological practices, financial literacy, Group governance, and Farmer Field School management.
The training is designed to strengthen local capacity to promote sustainable farming practices and build climate-resilient livelihoods at the community level.
Eric SIBOMANA, APEFA’s Projects Implementation Manager, officially opened a three-day training for farmers on Climate-Smart Agriculture, Agroecology, and Financial Literacy in Nyamata.
He wished participants successful and productive training, emphasizing the sessions’ importance in strengthening and advancing agricultural development in Bugesera District. He noted that the knowledge, skills, and practical experience gained through the training could serve as a valuable example for other farmers and contribute to improved agricultural practices within the community. He encouraged participants to engage in the training sessions actively and, most importantly, to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to their farming activities.
