Today, January 12, 2022, Action for Environment Protection and Agricultural Sectors Promotion (APEFA) has concluded the distribution of over 3,696,000 potato vines in six Sectors of Kirehe District.
Sweet potatoes of Kabode and Vita varieties are to be planted over 88 hectares in Kigarama, Kigina, Mahama, Mpanga, Nasho and Nyamugari Sectors.
The potato vines to be planted along water bodies and irrigable sites were distributed in line with the Support for the Rehabilitation of the Agricultural Production for the Affected Community Farms in Kirehe District a project funded by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
APEFA will also distribute pigs, cuttings and seeds in the course of the project.
